Empties: September 2013

 

Hi everyone! It's been a crazy couple months for me. Just to give a quick update, I'm currently working at Lush Singapore and it's been busy busy busy. So since I'm working there, I'll try to do more review on Lush products since I'm trying new products from there.

 

Anyway, moving on, it's October already! So of course, here's my empties for September!

 

 

(YAY) Garfield Baby Wipes 100pcs

It has a slightly rough texture but I find that it removes makeup from my hands very effectively. This is my HG everytime I put on makeup and make a mess on my hands and table.

 

(YAY) ELF Booster in Sheer

Good if you want a sheer, light finishing powder.

 

(YAY) MBD Black Pearl Mask

This mask claims to brighten and whiten. I think it does brighten and moisturise, doubtful about the whitening part, or it might be that I do not use it frequently to see the results. But still, a happy girl because I'm a sucker for masks.

 

Daiso Natural Pack Black Peel Off Mask

 

(YAY) Biore Pore and Oil Clear Facial Foam with Micro Scrub 

Cheap and it works pretty well for me. Gentle on my face even with the scrub.

 

Lady Speed Stick in Shower Fresh

 

(YAY) Guardian Hydrating Face Mist

Works pretty much like its sibling; the nourishing face mist. However, I find this smells more pleasant. I like to use this to refresh my face after a wash or just to set my makeup. I think Guardian has discontinued its face mists though.

(YAY) Opto-Pharm Buffelin Eye Drops

Definitely without a doubt a yes for me. A cheaper alternative than my previous P2 eye drop and works just as well. I'm a fan.

 

(YAY) Hello Kitty Raspberry 2 in 1 Shower Gel and Shampoo

Sweet raspberry scent. It makes my body AND my hair smell nice. This is a fun product to have!

 

Essence CoverStick in 01 Matt Sand

 

(YAY) Simply Active Deep Cleansing Facial Wipes 30pcs

This is suitable for all skin types and costs me like $1!! This is effective when use together a makeup cleansing product, and it makes my face feels refreshed. It does not remove makeup effectively alone, but again, for $1, it's no wonder. Overall, I'm still pretty happy with this product.

Constance Carroll Double Volume Mascara

 

(YAY) Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Lotion

Gotta love this for sure. It absorbs well into my skin and leave it super soft and moisturised. It's gentle on my skin. If not for the many bottles of skincare I own now, I would definitely re-purchase this bottle of goodness.

 

(YAY) Clean&Clear Deep Action Daily Pore Cleanser

Love the apple scent and the exfoliation factor is very gentle on the skin. One thing I have to say is that it's pretty watery so I always tend to use more product for this.

 

(NAH) Dove Go Fresh Beauty Cream Wash

Love the scent of grapefruit and lemongrass fragrance! If you use this as a hand wash, it's fine. I, however, bought this as it states that it can also be used as a facial cleanser. It stings my eye area every time I wash my face with this product. It's a no no for me.

 

(YAY) Glade Solid Air Freshener in Fresh Berries and Hawaiian Breeze

For $1.95 each, it's definitely worth the money. It lasts about 1-2 months and it smells good. A good spend for any room.

 

(YAY) Sally Hansen Strengthening Polish Remover

If you have smell Sephora nail polish remover before, I think you would agree with me that this remover smell wayyyy better. Anyway, this has Vitamin E and suitable for weak and thin nails. I feel pretty safe and comfortable using Sally Hansen nail products as they have been in this industry for like the longest time. Although I don't seem to see awesome nail care results from using this, I FEEL good (:

(YAY) MBD Bulgarian White Rose Mask

 I have a weaknesses for masks. So if there's any masks to try, I'd most probably be happy. Of course, if they have the word 'whitening' and 'collagen', I'm sold.

 

(YAY) Eucerin DermoPurifyer Scrub (Lactic Acid)

It's my first time ever to use a facial wash that contains lactic acid instead of salicylic acid, and I love it! My skin feels deeply cleanse after this exfoliating wash and it helps improve my blemished area too! If it was a little cheaper, I would probably make this my HG facial scrub.

 

(YAY) Theramed White Booster 2 in 1 Fluoride Toothpaste & Antibacterial Mouthwash

I have to give a heads up for the packaging! I love how handy this is and that it is good to bring for travelling as it is in a hard bottle and not burst somewhere in the baggage. It does really whiten up my teeth after brushing even though it's for a while. Happy enough.

 

(YAY) Solo Care Aqua All-in-one Solution

Gentle and moisturising solution for the eyes. Decent product.

 

(YAY) St Ives Apricot Scrub Blemish and Blackhead Control

Now, this definitely has salicylic acid and I love anything that contains that as it's good to prevent blemishes on my face. If you're not a big fan of crazy exfoliation, this is not for you. This is tough on the exfoliation factor and some users have mentioned about it being hurtful instead. For me, I like to gently scrub it on my face and it works fine for me. I feel that my face is being deeply cleansed with this.

 

(YAY) Kodomo Baby Powder

$1. Gentle powder. Great for everyday use. Smell soothing.

 

(NAH) Swisspers Cleansing Eye Make-up Remover Pads

I tried this out as it was $3 for a packet of 30 pads, that's like 10 cents for one pad! It claims to remove waterproof eye makeup and contains Vitamin E and Aloe Vera. This has got to be the worse product ever. The pad is so thick and rough that it makes removing the makeup difficult and hurtful. Waterproof makeup does not get removed by this and the pad is not moisturised enough so it tugs at the skin around my eyes. Thank goodness this lousy product is affordable but no way should anyone get this to try at all.

 

P2 Comfort Drops Lens Lubricant

 

(YAY) Guardian Mini Mint Dental Floss

So cute and handy. It's one of those thing that you should bring it anywhere you go. I have helped many friends with this after a meal when they find something stuck in between their teeth. A life-saver indeed.

 

(NAH) Rainbow Nail Polish

I like to get Rainbow nail polishes but this colour just did not work for me. I need to layer a few layers to make the polish look opaque and this takes me more time than other polishes.

Empties: July 2013

My first ever empties post. Are you excited? I am! Now, for these kind of posts, I'll be stating the products that I used up as well as giving a brief review of each. I really think these kind of posts helps in providing a good reference point for the consideration of the purchase of a certain product.

 

 

(YAY) Colgate Maximum Cavity Protection Toothpaste in Fresh Cool Mint with liquid calcium

I feel that this is an average toothpaste, it does nothing wondrous for me but only to maintain my teeth in terms of cleanliness. I've used the Cavity Protection Toothpaste from Colgate before and this obviously is an improved formulation. Liquid Calcium couldn't hurt either.

 

(YAY) Biore Glowing Bright Facial Foam with micro scrub

I love this. For just $2.50 at the Value Shop, this is a thick and creamy wash with a pleasant smell. The micro scrubbing beads are really gentle on my face too.

 

(YAY) Intimate Secret Purifying Body Scrub in Sheer Attraction

This is a lovely gentle body scrub in a pretty packaging. It has a nice scent and for just $2 from Sasa, hellloooo! I think it can be more moisturising though.

 

(NAH) Ikea small candles in rose scents

Hate the formulations of these small candles. They do not burn properly and has a lot of wax that cannot be burnt. They also do not have a strong scent when burnt. No love for these at all.

 

(YAY) Watsons 15 Vitamin C + Zinc Effervescent Tablets

I love the taste of this, and Zinc is good for the nails. It makes me wanna drink this everyday and I feel like I'm drinking Fanta Orange. I got two more boxes of these, need I say more?

 

(NAH) Johnson's Body Care 24hr Lasting Moisture Body Lotion

A sample sized bottle and a very normal body lotion. I don't care for this. There're so many lotions out there.

(NAH) ELF All Over Color Stick in Pink Lemonade

Oh this is too shimmery, too frosty. It has a warm pink shade, but it's too frosty for a blush or lip colour and too pink to be a highlight. It is pretty creamy, but when I try to put on my lips, it's very drying. A fail.

 

(YAY) MAC Black Gel Liner

I think it's the Hello Kitty collection? Anyway, it's very creamy and easy to apply as a eyeliner. Does smudge slightly (overly creamy) so I'll put setting powder on top so it won't not budge so easily. Overall, a decent product.

 

(YAY) Coastal Scents Gel Liner in 05

Pretty deep blue colour, which I felt was pretty pigmented and creamy. Worth a try, just try not to let it dry out.

 

(YAY) Dot Dot Gel Eyeliner

It's a shimmery black liner and I used to love it for night outs or parties. This baby is dried up and have fall-outs whenever I applied it now. I have fallen out of love.

 

(YAY) EDM Concealer in Lavender

I used this under the eye area and at the brow bone to highlight. It's very lightweight and a thin layer is enough to see the coverage it gives. A decent product.

 

(YAY) Natural Collection Solo Eyes Eyeshadow in Heather

It's very silky and smooth to apply on the lids. Love the colour itself, I can wear this almost everyday. Yumz.

 

(YAY) Bio-Essence Deep Nourishing Toner with pine pollen

A really normal toner; my face feels tighten and it does remove my impurities.

 

(NAH) Vaseline Lip Therapy in Cherry

When I opened this up to try the first time, I was disappointed already. The packaging makes it look like it's a tinted lipbalm. It's moisturising I must say. However, it's a boring colourless product so I won't be re-purchasing it. Also, it's pretty oily so it slides around on my lips.

 

(YAY) VS Ultra Moisturising hand and body cream in Sweet Temptation

The scent of this is oh-so-nice! It's sweet yet calming. For moisturising both hands and body...great!

 

(YAY) Camay Chic Body Soap

Love the scent, it smells powdery and sweet at the same time...creamy and foams up pretty well!

 

(YAY) Harmony Body Soap in Fuji Apple

I love Harmony soaps because they all smell sweet and fruity; very refreshing! However, they do foam up pretty slowly so you need more patience with these. However, with its low price and nice scent, I still like them!

 

(NAH) Clarus Cucumber 24 Makeup Remover Tissues

Hate these. Tugs at my skin and still does not remove my makeup effectively. A total no-no.

 

(YAY) Garfield Citrus Wet Tissues 60 Wipes

Love the texture of these tissues, very smooth and gentle on my skin. I like the hard cover instead of a sticker to seal it up. Yay!

 

(YAY) Sexylook Firming and Whitening Mask

Oh I love how the mask hooks onto my ears to firm up my face. I don't really have these kind of masks. Time to shop for these!

 

(YAY) MBD Chocolate Mask

Both are pretty moisturising and I feel that they do brighten up my face as well. If you love the scent of chocolate, these are for you.

 

(YAY) The Face Shop Collagen Essential Masksheet

This is the most moisturising mask I have used for this month. My face stays hydrated and soft throughout the night till the next day without needing to apply any moisturiser.
