Empties: September 2013

 

Hi everyone! It's been a crazy couple months for me. Just to give a quick update, I'm currently working at Lush Singapore and it's been busy busy busy. So since I'm working there, I'll try to do more review on Lush products since I'm trying new products from there.

 

Anyway, moving on, it's October already! So of course, here's my empties for September!

 

 

(YAY) Garfield Baby Wipes 100pcs

It has a slightly rough texture but I find that it removes makeup from my hands very effectively. This is my HG everytime I put on makeup and make a mess on my hands and table.

 

(YAY) ELF Booster in Sheer

Good if you want a sheer, light finishing powder.

 

(YAY) MBD Black Pearl Mask

This mask claims to brighten and whiten. I think it does brighten and moisturise, doubtful about the whitening part, or it might be that I do not use it frequently to see the results. But still, a happy girl because I'm a sucker for masks.

 

Daiso Natural Pack Black Peel Off Mask

 

(YAY) Biore Pore and Oil Clear Facial Foam with Micro Scrub 

Cheap and it works pretty well for me. Gentle on my face even with the scrub.

 

Lady Speed Stick in Shower Fresh

 

(YAY) Guardian Hydrating Face Mist

Works pretty much like its sibling; the nourishing face mist. However, I find this smells more pleasant. I like to use this to refresh my face after a wash or just to set my makeup. I think Guardian has discontinued its face mists though.

(YAY) Opto-Pharm Buffelin Eye Drops

Definitely without a doubt a yes for me. A cheaper alternative than my previous P2 eye drop and works just as well. I'm a fan.

 

(YAY) Hello Kitty Raspberry 2 in 1 Shower Gel and Shampoo

Sweet raspberry scent. It makes my body AND my hair smell nice. This is a fun product to have!

 

Essence CoverStick in 01 Matt Sand

 

(YAY) Simply Active Deep Cleansing Facial Wipes 30pcs

This is suitable for all skin types and costs me like $1!! This is effective when use together a makeup cleansing product, and it makes my face feels refreshed. It does not remove makeup effectively alone, but again, for $1, it's no wonder. Overall, I'm still pretty happy with this product.

Haul: Daiso

 

Daiso haul again! I got myself:

 

- Detergent for Puff and Sponge

- Colour Eyeshadow in Golden (swatches beautifully when I was at the store)

- Brow crayon with brush made in Korea (I wanted a backup so it was sold out!)

- Ellefar Glitter Eyeshadow for brown eyed look

- A pack of 2 shaving blades

- A lipstick in the shade pk-2 (orange diamond on the top cover)

 

I got the Ellefar Glitter Eyeshadow and the lipstick before, but in different shades.

Haul: Daiso

 

Daiso lovers out there! Here's a post specially for you! It's my most recent haul from Daiso and if you're interested in any of these, most likely you will still be able to get your hands on these!

 

First off, I got myself a lipstick with a silver casing and a green diamond on top in the shade PK-1.

 

Then I got 3 Shiny Eyeshadows Sticks in Black, Brown and Pink. They have a blue and white ones as well.

 

I finally got to buy a mascara that I feel comfortable trying! It's made in Taiwan and it comes in a pretty purple-black packaging.

 

When I saw that Daiso was selling lash glue so similar to my Star Lash Lash Glue, I knew it has to be tried. Daiso has both Black Eyelash Glue and Clear Eyelash Glue. I bought both. Watch out for a review of these!

 

Oh I know Halloween is not so soon but the little purple pumpkin holder was calling out to me. So I got it, before I have the chance to regret when it is sold out later.

 

I ended up buying 3 eyeshadows palettes. 2 of the Pearl in Eye Shadow Palettes in A and B, and a Glitter Eyeshadow Ellefar Color Makeup Series in B.

 

Next are the blushes! When I saw these, I fell in love immediately. These have 4 shades of blush in teach of them; 2 are shimmery and 2 are matte. I got a Pink Colour and a Magic Color. I think there is another blush in Cute Color.

 

A pack of falsies. I have been putting falsies on nowadays and I absolutely love these short strips of lashes that I put at the outer end of my lashes. It amplifies my eye looks while looking natural.

 

I got myself 3 makeup pouches! Is it obvious I love polka dots? I got 2 of the same pouches because I really love these a lot. It is pretty and can store quite an amount of my makeup that I bring on the go or for stayovers. It has a good design as it is already expanded to fit my things in and feels quite sturdy.

(YAY) Review: Daiso Cream Blushes in A, B and C

 

These 2 bucks babies are just so impressive to me! Here I have 3 shades of cream blushes from Daiso which are made in Taiwan When I swirl my fingers on it to pick up the product, the heat turns it pretty creamy. As I apply it on my cheeks, it feels powdery! It blends so easily and well on my cheeks, be it on top of liquid foundation or powder foundation!

 

The last blush to the right is too dark and brown for me to be use as a blush, so I have been using it as a contour cream. It is a suitable contour colour on my face. These looks so natural on my cheeks or as a contour!

 

Being so small and easy to carry around without the worry of the product getting broken into pieces unlike powders is definitely a plus point!

(NAH) Double Review: Daiso Nail & Hand Cream in Mango & Peach + Apple & Rose

 

These Daiso Hand and Nail Creams smell so nice! They are a mix of sweet, fruity and floral. Their packaging is so girly and pretty in pink also!

 

However, I hate how they have shimmers in them! I never will like shimmers in my handcream. It will just makes me feel that my hands are dirty and the shimmers will transfer onto whatever I touch. Now, I only use these on my body. They make my legs and arms look like they are glistening with moisture, haha!

 

So as far as handcreams go, these do not work for me. I definitely don't recommend them to you if you're looking for a hand and nail cream.

(NAH) Review: Daiso Long Lasting Eyeshadow (Pink and Purple)

   

 

 

It was kinda hard for me to decide if these eyeshadows were YAY or NAH but I gotta do what I gotta do. These palettes are awesome to help you create a pink or purple eye look. The pink palette looks suitable for an everyday wear.

 

Well, I was quite conflicted because when I touched the Daiso Long Lasting Eyeshadows in pink, it felt smooth and silky while the eyeshadows in the purple one was not smooth and silky like the pinks. That leads me to think that the quality are not standardised throughout all the eyeshadow palettes.

 

The purple eyeshadows are harder to blend and are more drying, especially the darker purples. If not blended properly, the darkest purple easily looks botchy on  my lids. Furthermore, the lighter shades in both palettes are very frosty looking and can hardly be seen on my lids, so think of what will be of it after blending.

(YAY) Review: Daiso Makeup Remover Stick

 

Woah, I realised I do have a handful of Daiso beauty products! Here's another one! It's a makeup remover stick made in Taiwan. I remember way back I used to have the Revlon Makeup Eraser Pen. It was like a rounded rubber tip soaked with makeup remover solution. After using several times, it got really dirty and there was no way to wash it. Besides, it dried up pretty fast.

 

 When I saw this, I thought it was a dupe for the Revlon one. Nope, this is better.

 

It comes in a stick form and if I was to describe it, I would say that it is a wax stick. I used it mostly on smudges I have under my eyes, such as those from eyeliner, mascara and eyeshadow. I go over my smudges with this and use a tissue to wipe away the smudges. It all comes completely off. It's a great quick touch-up on the go.

 

I never have to worry about it getting unhygienic as I can just wipe off the outer layer that came into contact with my skin. It's all clean again and I'm good to go!

 

If you are also having troubles on removing smudges on the go, you can try this instead of wasting one whole makeup wipe. It's only 2 bucks and does no irritate my skin nor near my eye area. Never thought a $2 stuff could be better than a brand like Revlon huh?

(YAY) Review: Daiso Falsies Organiser

 

I can never get enough of Daiso. They have so many pretty things at such low prices! Here's two falsies organisers I got myself over time. I got the small dark blue falsies organiser first. After expanding my falsies collection, I realised a bigger organiser was a better choice. So I went in again and got myself the bigger one!

 

These two sizes comes in different colours and designs. Of course, falsies are not included. Those in the pictures are my own. Do take note that only the small one has a strip of mirror while the bigger one does not have a mirror at all.

 

All in all, I really do like my falsies organiser, especially the bigger one. It can store four pairs of falsies and a lash glue. I even put some of my small falsies in-between. The white organiser is an excellent contrast with my black falsies which make viewing my falsies much easier. I highly recommend these inexpensive falsies organisers, especially a white one.

(YAY) Review: Daiso Cheek Blush in B

 

I like to try these $2 blushes because I know I can throw them out without second thought if they don't work for me. Here's a blush from Daiso made in Taiwan.

 

When I first opened up and looked at them closely, I hated them. Their surfaces looked so rough and dry compressed in the packaging. Upon trying them, I knew I shouldn't have judged them just on the first impression. They looked so beautiful on my cheeks; the pretty slight flush they gave. They look very natural on the first application and are very buildable. The swatches on my hands are two layers of applications.

 

As shown, the blush on the left is matt and the right one has a sheen to it. Awesome, you are presented with choices! I love both blushes! Applications with these are so easy. The one on the right is so wearable, it has no shimmers, just sheen. On my face, it just makes my face looks glowy and pink. The matt one can be worn for casual day-outs when you want your makeup to look as natural as possible.

(NAH) Review: Daiso Black Peel-off Mask

 

Ok, here's another product from Daiso (don't mind the dirty packaging as it has been with me for quite awhile). It's a peel off black mask made in Korea. It's said to remove blackheads/impurities and dead skin.

 

For me, it dries quick and does remove my blackheads but not all. Personally, I feel that it removes more of my facial hairs than my blackheads on the area where the mask is applied. I guess it's more suitable for people who wants to have their facial hairs remove once in awhile. Beware of the stinging feeling when you peel off the mask together with your facial hairs!

 

For $2, it's decent to try this out. It does not break me out or irritates my skin. However, since I do not want my facial hairs to be removed as the more your remove, the more it grows back after some time, I think this product is unsuitable for me. For people like me who just wants to remove blackheads, I recommend going for nose strips instead!

(YAY) Review: Daiso DH Eyebrow Pencil (With Brush) in Black / Dark Brown / Grey

 

 

I never expect to say this ever, but my holy grail eyebrow pencil is from Daiso. Yes, a $2 eyebrow pencil. It's the DH Eyebrow Pencil in Black. I absolutely love the brush, the kind that Hollyanneree likes too. I definitely don't like the mascara kind of wand for my brows.

 

I use this brush to tame the brows after drawing in the brows with the pencil. It makes the colour more toned down and my brows look more natural. Sometimes, if I want my brows to last longer or going underwater, I would get some other brow gel with the brush and apply. I use this every single time I do my makeup. It's not like I hate brow powder, but I like how this is easier to draw my brows with no worries of fallouts. I love the sleek packaging, dual ends and how portable these are.

 

I love it so much that I went to get another backup of the black and decided to try the rest of the two colours; dark brown and grey. I realised I love all three colours! Black and brown make my brows more defined and bold-looking. Grey is lighter, hence, it gives a more natural and softer look. Different colours for different looks!
